Not
only have the folks up in his hometown of Syracuse recognized the
musical genius of Hamell on Trial by inducting him into the Syracuse Area Music Award's Hall of Fame this May, music lovers all the way out in Scotland are taking notice as well.
This August, Hamell on Trial will perform at the venerable Festival Fringe
in Edinburgh, Scotland. Started in 1947, the Festival Fringe has
become the world's largest arts festival, and is well-known as a
showcase for experimental works. Because there is no selection
committee that approves show entries, any type of event is possible, and
Hamell's popular one-man show "The Terrorism of the Everyday Life" will
surely grab some attention. So put on your kilt, head on down to the
Festival Fringe, and see a man who's been hailed by Philadelphia Weekly as "scabrously, filthily, and twistedly funny."
And if you can't make it all the way to Scotland, you're in luck,
because you can catch Hamell tomorrow night in New York City at Comix.
